Wat is precies een 'gebonden waarde'? Kan het zijn dat dit over een 'bounded set' gaat? Is de juiste term dan niet begrensdheid? - Snaily 11 dec 2010 20:11 (CET)

Bedankt voor je feedback! Ik ben geen wiskundige, maar ik kan je de relevante citaten uit het boek van Penrose wel geven:

...the sequence of numbers that we get in this way never wanders very far from the origin in the Argand plane; more precisely, the sequence remains bounded for such choices, which is to say that every member of the sequence lies within some fixed circle centred at the origin...

...the sequence wanders farther and farther from the origin to indefinite distance; i.e. the sequence is unbounded and cannot be contained within any fixed circle.

Ik denk dus dat het begrip begrensdheid inderdaad van toepassing is op de sequenties die verkregen worden met het algoritme $z_{n+1}=z_{n}+c$, met het voorbehoud dat dit afhankelijk is van de keuze van c. Josq 11 dec 2010 20:34 (CET)
